Verge readers can save $90 on the iRobot Roomba i3 Plus robot vacuum

It’s time to do some spring cleaning, but let’s be smart, both with the technology we buy to help us and with the money we spend.

Wellbots has an additional special discount on one of the most popular and affordable iRobot robovacs, and it’s exclusive to Edge readers. From now until Sunday, April 10, you can get the Roomba i3 Plus for $459 when you use code YARD40. This promotional code reduces the already reduced price of $499 by an additional $40. It’s not the lowest price we’ve seen for this robot vacuum yet, but it’s the best price since early 2022 – and since iRobot added more features like smart mapping via an update firmware, making it an even better value. Also, if you are in the United States, purchasing from Wellbots may not require you to pay sales tax depending on the state you live in.

The Roomba i3 Plus is a great robot vacuum that automatically empties its dustbin into the included cleaning station, holds over a month’s worth of dirt, and has the aforementioned mapping features that make it a more efficient cleaning companion. It also has programmable no-go zones to make sure it focuses on the parts of your home that you want. Plus, its rollers are designed to tackle long hair and pet hair without tangling or excessive clogging. It’s really hard to beat the capabilities of this robot vacuum without spending, well, hundreds more.

iRobot Roomba i3 Plus

Best value for money if you want a self-emptying robot, the Roomba i3 Plus cleans just as well as the j7. It simply won’t avoid clutter and has no clean zones or app-enabled no-go zones. If you can live without it, you will be very happy with this bot. Wellbots is offering an additional $40 off with code YARD40 until Sunday April 10.

Microsoft is selling some configurations of its convertible Surface Laptop Studio for up to $300 off — stand and all. The base model comes with an 11th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, and Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics for $1,422.99 ($177 off). It’s not enough as low of a price as we saw late last year on this entry-level model.

The biggest savings are reserved for the upgradable model which packs the same specs but doubles the storage to a 512GB SSD. This one will set you back $1,549.99 ($250 off). If you fancy a discrete GPU, you can spec the Surface Laptop Studio with a Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and a midrange Nvidia RTX 3050 Ti for $1,863.99 ($236 $ off).

Even discounted, these prices may not be for the faint-hearted. Microsoft’s Surface line rarely offers the best value next to other laptops of similar configuration. But they usually make up for that with great build quality. The Surface Laptop Studio, in particular, is unlike anything else on the market. Its two-hinged design to support the touch screen like a graphics tablet is perfect for using a stylus. If you’re a creator who can overcome this laptop’s short battery life and limited port selection, it offers a one-of-a-kind experience. Read our review.
