Bristol Dirt Results: April 1, 2022 ($50,000 to win)

Kyle Larson and the best late-model dirt drivers in the country battle it out on the dirt track at Bristol Motor Speedway

Last week, they ran back-to-back nights for $50,000 to win in Bristol, Tennessee. Now, they’re back to do it all over again on Bristol Motor Speedway’s half-mile dirt track.

This week, NASCAR driver Kyle Larson is on the show. He’ll get some extra time on the reconfigured Bristol Dirt Track before the NASCAR dirt race in a few weeks.

The World of Outlaws Late Model show was canceled due to rain in Illinois. Brandon Sheppard and the Rocket house car drove through the night to get to Tennessee and now he’s out in the country.

Green flag, Madden heads down the outside lane into turn one! Madden leads the field into turn two.

Lap 2, Ross Bailes goes wide open and nearly pushes Ricky Thornton Jr into the wall at turn two. Everyone continues, without caution.

Lap 6, Ross Bailes arrives at the pit area, without caution.

Lap 7, Chris Madden leads by a mile but finds himself at the back of the field. The entire field runs along the inside lane.

Lap 10, yellow flag for debris.

Green, Madden leads Marlar. Kyle Larson is exploring the mid lane, dusting it off on his own and trying to pass Chris Ferguson for sixth.

Lap 12, Mike Marlar hits the outside wall from second. Caution is out of the question as he takes heavy damage.

Green, Madden leads while Weiss takes second place. Jimmy Owens runs wide on the fluff and drops out of the top 10. Larson takes them 3 wide and takes a spot from Bloomquist. They make light contact and Larson has some damage to his left front.

Lap 18, Larson stays on top, drops fast because it doesn’t work.

Lap 24, Madden has reached the tail of the field. Weiss is closing in fast as the lead has been reduced from 3 seconds to just 1 second.

Lap 27, Weiss has closed in on Madden’s bumper. The field remains single file around the inside lane.

20 to go, as the lap cars start dicing, Madden works for both of them. He puts two cars back between him and Weiss.

17 to go, Madden has reopened the lead to 2.5 seconds.

15 to go, Larson remains in the outside lane. Now come to him. Larson is back to sixth.

8 to go, Chris Ferguson moves to the outside lane. He drives to 3rd and now to 2nd! The outside lane might be the fastest line at this point as the track changes rapidly.
