Only Bayraq has all-weather experience after winning a rookie event here in October. Saga chased subsequent Godolphin Group winners Modern Games and Coroebus before winning easily at Ascot and could be tough to beat. Artaois and the undefeated Maljoom complete the lineup.

TOP TIP: Saga

Runner-up behind smart sorts first two starts before winning Ascot; should take the beating

Carrig Sam brings by far the best recent form in this big handicap race and, if he manages the slight step up on the trip, he could complete a hat-trick on the track. Folcano’s only win under the rules came at Fairyhouse and he is able to race 6lbs lighter in a weaker race than when he was 9th in Pertemps at the Cheltenham Festival.

TOP TIP: Festival D’Ex

Sixth for Carrig Sam in February and a good second for a very progressive rival in Naas; player

Of the five course winners on the course, Diamond Bay could be the one to beat after making a successful season comeback on the track last month. Also of interest are Hasty Sailor and November Handicap striker Farhan.

TOP TIP: Stay Well

He made his all-weather winning debut here in October and has improved his form ever since; has won fresh and respected

Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Hurdle (Grade 2), 2m4f

Progressive rookie Flame Bearer bids for a four-stroke and a third Grade 2 win on the spin, but Boyne Hurdle winner Thedevilscoachman and the experienced pairing of Darasso and Darver Star provide stiff opposition. Jon Snow is mesmerizing in his return after almost two years off the track, having beaten subsequent Grade 1 winners in his last two starts.

TOP TIP: Thedevilcoachman

The form of his 2m5f Grade 2 victory at Navan was boosted at Cheltenham; every chance

My Astra is unbeaten in Britain and, after a decent second in the Prix Solitude last time out, tackles the all-weather surface for the first time. Potapova drops in class after running the Coronation Stakes last year, while Flame Of Freedom is the only course winner in the field. The improvement of Roman Mist and the stable debut of the George Boughey-trained Romantic Rival are also of interest.

TOP TIP: Potapova

Not seen in 222 days, but clearly can go well fresh and tested in the AW; strong affirmations

Pursuit Devenish (Grade 2), 2m4f

The consistent Janidil has hounded Allaho twice this season, including on Ryanair’s latest outing, and he deserves to have his head in the lead. Last year’s Easy Game 1-2 and Castlegrace Paddy are back for more, while Blackbow is back in stiffer company after leaving for Clonmel.

TOP TIP: Janidil

Grade 1 rookie winner here last year, his form with stable mate Allaho sets the standard

BoyleSports Great Irish National Chase, 3m5f

Enjoy D’Allen, Run Wild Fred, Mount Ida, Death Duty and Samcro – they all reappear quickly after the Grand National, with only the latter being completed at Aintree. Farclas bypassed Merseyside with this race in mind, while Brown Advisory’s third party Gaillard Du Mesnil makes notable progress on the journey.

TOP TIP: Mister Fogpatches

Has been highly reliable on long stay handicaps, added cheeks, every lane opportunity
