In many ways, The wonders of Tiny Tina looks more like its own game than any other Borderlands Title. While the spin-off retains several mechanics from the main series, such as the golden chest for Shift Keys and loot-focused shooter gameplay, its new features are where it really shines. Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine that most of these features will carry over to the highly anticipated Borderlands 4 every time he arrives.
While some The wonders of Tiny Tina mechanics can absolutely be brought in, such as Chaos Chamber endgame content, others are deeply tied to the game’s fantasy setting and wouldn’t work within the Borderlands universe. As such, Borderlands 4 could end up leaving a lot of The wonders of Tiny Tina coolest features behind, something that might make it a lot less enjoyable for fans of the spin-off. While Borderlands 4 does not need The wonders of Tiny Tina new features to be great, it would still be a shame to see them abandoned.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands features that probably won’t appear in Borderlands 4
One feature that gets a ton of love is the character creator. so far, The wonders of Tiny Tina fans created alien characters, designed their Fatemaker in the likeness of Thanos, and paid homage to A punch. Gamers love the freedom offered by the character creator, with players being able to create virtually anything with the variety of tools that Gearbox has made available.
However, the Borderlands the games have a set style where players choose one of four Vault Hunters to play. These Vault Hunters have their own personalities and backstories, so a character designer wouldn’t make much sense in any of the main games. Although the feature is extremely popular in The wonders of Tiny Tinamany probably wouldn’t want to see him replace Vault Hunters, though some would surely miss him.
Another outstanding feature is spells, The wonders of Tiny Tina‘ take grenades. Since the game’s release, many have fallen in love with spellcasting, with rechargeable magic being far more fun to wield than blaster grenades. Borderlands. However, with The wonders of Tiny TinaWith the spells being over the top and featuring anything from falling meteors to giant acid cubes, it’s hard to believe they’ll be seen in Borderlands 4. Players will likely have to go back to grenades, as the core games are much more grounded in reality.
The wonders of Tiny Tina‘ The Overworld Map is yet another standout feature that’s hard to imagine appearing in the Borderlands Games. With vehicles like the outrunner being an iconic part of Borderlandsthey are unlikely to be replaced by the cute Overworld of The wonders of Tiny Tina. With the Overworld working well because it leans into the board game of The wonders of Tiny Tinait’s hard to imagine it existing outside of a Bunkers and Badasses campaign.
With all of this in mind, Borderlands 4 might disappoint those who love The wonders of Tiny Tina. With the spells being so powerful and unique, fans might find the grenades weak and boring. Those who adore the charm of the Overworld might find vehicles set back, while players who like to share their characters might be disappointed to return to the limited customization options in Borderlands. With a bit of luck, The wonders of Tiny Tina either gaining more support or becoming a proper franchise, as the game introduced several features that fans will surely want to revisit. With Borderlands having such a different tone and its own playing systems, it might not be able to incorporate the best aspects of Wonderland.
The wonders of Tiny Tina is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
