Bellator 277 is set to descend TONIGHT (Friday, April 15, 2022) from inside the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., with a featherweight title fight between division champion AJ McKee and Patricio Pitbull. In the evening’s co-main event, the Light Heavyweight Grand Prix will come to a close as Vadim Nemkov defends his title against Corey Anderson.

Aaron’s Peak against Adli Edwards

Round 1: Edwards inside leg kick. Pico walks in for an early teardown, and he gets it. Shock. Side control for Pico, now in half guard. A hard elbow lands for Pico in Edwards face. Edwards trying to pull off an ankle lock buy Pico escapes. Pico lands a huge right hand and he drops Edwards. Edwards drops his back, he turns around and Pico is in side control. Short elbows for Pico. Edwards gets up and Pico lands a huge left hook to the body before taking Edwards down again. Shorter elbows are landings for Pico and Edwards has no answer for him. Pico allows Edwards to back up and quickly lands a high kick to the head. Pico fires a few shots to the body and he takes Edwards down again. Pico with another huge body shot before knocking Edwards down again. Dominant round for Pico. 10-9 pico

2nd round:

Pico opens things up with a three-hit combo. He drops Edwards with a high kick, though he gets back up fairly quickly. Pico with a nasty left hook to the body before scoring his fifth takedown of the fight. Pico continues to go to the pit with the body shots, and they continue to land, Edwards face begins to show the punishment he is taking. Pico knocks Edwards out with a vicious left hook and he takes Edwards down again. Edwards may not have much to offer offensively, but he’s showing a ton of heart here. Pico now lands ground and pound. He gets up, only to get screwed again. Pico looks perfect here tonight, putting it all together, Pico’s One-two after Edwards gets up. Pico with a nice left hook and then a spinning elbow lands. Kick to the body and another takedown to close the round. 10-9 pico

Round 3: Stiff jab from Pico. Forward kick from Edwards in the middle. Three right kicks land for Pico, then a one-two up high. A solid one-two combination drops Edwards and Pico goes for the kill, shoots to the side of the head before the referee ends the penalty. Big stop.

Final result: Pico defeats. Edwards via third-round technical knockout


Tim Johnson vs. Linton Vassell

Round 1:

Low blow to start things off from Vassell, but Johnson refuses to take time. The action resumes. They hook up and start unloading on each other for a few seconds. Johnson pushing forward as he pushed Vassell against the cage. Inside kick from Vassell, Johnson pushes him against the cage again. Vassell looking for a teardown, doesn’t understand. Another inside kick from Vassell. Body kick from Vassell, body shot back from Johnson. Johnson tags Vassell and he rocks his with a huge left hand. Vassell falls to the canvas and Johnson leaps. Vassell is up but falls back and Johnson bum rushes him like a tank and starts unloading vicious ground and pound. Vassell holds firm but Johnson is relentless. Johnson suffered a cut to his forehead, likely from reckless diving. Vasell now has Johnson’s back and he unloads. What a change in situation ! Johnson turns to Vassell and Vassell is now fully mounted. Vassell and Johnson’s ground-and-pound has now responded, forcing the referee to end the fight in the first round. What a comeback from Vassell.

Final result: Vassell defeated. Johnson via first-round TKO
