The best Elden Ring Rune Farm location is considered an achievement by some, but it is still in the game after the last update.

FromSoftware games have earned a reputation for being some of the toughest games out there, and for good reason. FromSoftware titles often push players’ abilities to the limit, challenging them with powerful bosses that require great skill to overcome. Ring of Elden is no exception to this rule, but sometimes skill is not enough. There are times when Ring of Elden players will need to collect runes to level up if they hope to have any chance of surviving against the threat they face in the game, and since each level requires more runes than the previous, some players may feel the need to cultivate for them.

There are a variety of places in Ring of Elden where players can farm runes efficiently, but there is one area in the game that is particularly useful for rune farming. If players are able to get to the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace Site of Grace in Mohgwyn Palace, they will find a ledge populated with strange creatures that are great to kill for rune farming purposes, but there is an even better enemy focus in the distance.

While Ring of Elden players are definitely welcome to kill enemies on the ledge for runes, shooting the bird-like creature through the canyon is an even better method of rune farming. After shooting the bird, it will charge the player character, then they can simply rest at the nearby Grace site to get their runes, reset the bird, and repeat the process indefinitely. It’s such a good place to farm runes in Ring of Elden that some may go so far as to consider it an exploit, but FromSoftware doesn’t seem to feel that way.

FromSoftware recently released a new Ring of Elden update that brings a variety of fixes to the game as well as answers to some feedback by adding NPC markers to the map and giving characters new quest phases. As Game Rant’s own testing confirmed, the update doesn’t change anything to this fan-favorite rune-farming site, which seems to suggest that FromSoftware itself doesn’t necessarily consider it an exploit. Then again, it’s also possible that the developers at FromSoftware are planning to nerf this rune farming site at some point and they just didn’t achieve that in this update, so fans should bear that in mind.

Ring of Elden players can maximize their rune farming potential here through the use of specific items like the Gold Beetle or the Gold Gathered Fowl Feet. They should still get a minimum of 11,000 runes per run though, so it’s still a worthwhile destination even without those items in tow.

Ring of Elden is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
